I wrote this song in 1999 and we recorded a really cool demo for Taken Away on our demo unreleased album "Ascension". Paul A. Fox added guitar at Dan Swan's house in Milpitas California to give the song the right feel.

I remember lying on the floor listening to his guitar work and the many layers he produced on the spot, I thought this is amazing, the world needs to hear this track. Yet we never released it. Paul A. Fox tragically passed away in an auto mobile wreck in 2004. We had an unfinished album "Above and Beyond" with Pauls guitar and production throughout, which ultimately took us five more years to release as it was difficult to move on.

When I spoke at his memorial service I promised everyone who knew Paul that his music would live on and be heard all over the world well beyond our limited years on this earth. That continues to happen to this day thanks to Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora.

While recording "Retro Christmas" I came to the conclusion that we had to add Paul somehow. Then I remembered that day I heard his guitar playing on the unreleased Taken Away. So I got together with Jeff Saltzman (who also knew Paul) and we took his separated tracks into the studio and came up with this guitar tag ending for the Retro Christmas album.

I couldn't have a potentially final record without Paul on it and it still honors my promise for Paul and those who loved him to keep his music at the forefront throughout time. God rest his soul, till we meet again!
