Alabaster relates our lifetimes of building who we are and standing against the elements of time. Eventually that beauty fades away and those left behind admire who we were. Living with faith is difficult as meaning is unseen, but hopefully what is seen, what we were is as beautiful as Alabaster.
As the cold winds blow
The Children laugh, a time forgotten
Pathway through the clouds
Daylight falls, visions fade
Does He wipe away the tears a-fallin'?
Can He take away the pain within us?
Someday the skies will clear
but I don't know when
Searching through the night
With dimming stars in place of Heaven
We look to find our place
Saddened eyes, ashen skies
Throughout the ages
Visions pass by
Shadows in the light, whispers in the night
Stars will align
We're drawing nearer
Every little step, every little voice
Echoes in time
Waves against the shore
We build our world in alabaster
Resistance from the rains
Worn away, what remains?
Can He hear our voices calling?
Sometimes I think we're all alone
The love we held is gone, in hiding
Can you hear the angels cry?
Now we're left to wonder, why?
