A Child was born on a moonlit night
Where's the child now?
He came of us, yet now He's lost
We left Him by Himself
Where's the Son of Bethlehem
who sacrificed His life?
Like a snowflake in the mist
His meaning disappears
 
See the Child, so innocent
Where's the Child now?
Oh the Mother Mary held Him near
yet we have put Him to the ground
 
We fill a church on Christmas Eve
with candles burning bright
Do we celebrate His life
or fade into the night?
We fall asleep and live in dreams
Like snow on meadow ground
We've covered up the Jesus Child
He's buried from our hearts
 
See the Child, so Innocent
Where's the Child now?

that love can still be found
